Overview of Operation Chakra

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently launched an extensive operation named **"Operation Chakra"** to combat cybercrime networks operating in India and abroad. This operation was designed to dismantle transnational cybercriminal syndicates involved in phishing, identity theft, financial scams, and ransomware attacks.

The initiative, carried out in collaboration with international agencies such as the FBI, reflects India's growing commitment to addressing the challenges of the digital age. Over 26 individuals have been arrested in connection with these crimes, with many more under investigation.

  • Never share sensitive information like bank details or passwords over phone calls or emails.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts and enable two-factor authentication.
  • Keep your software and antivirus programs up to date.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited messages or emails that seem too good to be true.

CBI has urged citizens to report suspicious activities and scams to cybercrime helplines to prevent further exploitation.
